What Exactly Were IOs Up To At #ADPiDallas?

If you’re like me, after spending almost a whole week surrounded by hundreds of amazing, inspirational sisters, you’re experiencing serious ADPi Withdrawals. I wish Convention could be every week!

Of course, IOs did have a few hours of free time. Some of the RMDs made a quick stop at Neiman Marcus. Duh!

Even though we can’t celebrate Grand Convention all the time, ADPi International Officers are always working hard to make the sorority better for collegians and alumnae too. You may have noticed that IOs had some extra meetings and a slightly different schedule from collegians or other alumnae at Convention—so what exactly were we up to?

  • DIV multi-tasked and crafted fun noisemakers for Convention during our District Meeting.

District Meetings – On Wednesday afternoon, the six different District Teams had strategic meetings. In these meetings, IOs gave updates on chapters and programming areas, reviewed information from Grand Council, planned for the upcoming year, and—of course—had some fun too! In DIV, for example, we did a little crafting while we collaborated.

  • New International Officer Orientation – Brand-new International Officers had the opportunity for a meet-and-greet with Grand Council before the start of Convention. Being a new advisor or officer can be an overwhelming experience at any level of ADPi, so this ensured everyone was off to a great start!

  • Committee Meetings – Friday afternoon, IOs had committee meetings as well. I may be a little biased, but I think the Recruitment and Marketing Directors had the best meeting! We brainstormed marketing goals for the upcoming year, talked through some pressing issues, discussed new approaches for recruitment projects, and shared successes too. Of course, there were lots of snacks and colorful post-it notes! Plus, we did some cool icebreakers. (Pun intended.)
The RMDs had a ton of fun plotting even more of a recruitment extravaganza this upcoming year!!! Are you ready??

You’re probably sensing a trend here—IOs attended a lot of meetings in Dallas. Since we’re not able to get together often, we really maximize our time together. IOs definitely stay busy, but we remember to have fun too–like all ADPis! We spend tons of of time working on teams and committees to ensure our sorority continues to be amazingly successful, and we also make sure to spend time catching up with everyone and bonding too!

IOs had a fabulous Convention together so, trust me–we’re already working hard to make this year the best one yet for ADPi!!
