What to Pack for Grand Convention

Grand Convention is under a month away and many of you are probably starting to wonder what to pack.

For business meetings, business attire is recommended. A good way to think about this dress code is using pin attire as a guide which means slacks, casual skirts, capris or cropped pants paired with appropriate tops, sweater sets or blouses are suggested.  If you would like more ideas on what to wear during the business meetings, please visit our Convention Fashion pin board here.

Please leave t-shirts, cutoffs and tank tops in your hotel room. They are not allowed at any convention sessions. Remember, conduct and dress of all Alpha Delta Pi attendees will be observed by other guests in the hotel.

For the Adelphean Processional white attire is required of all members. To participate, you must be wearing a white dress or suit without colored trim and white shoes. No slacks, pant suits or flip flops are permitted. If you would like to see some ideas for proper white attire visit our Pinterest board here. Our Diamond Awards Banquet on the last night is formal attire and gowns can be long or short.

You are encouraged to dress comfortably, be ready to learn and prepared to enjoy all of the activities of the 2013 summer meeting. The hotel meeting rooms tend to be a bit cool, so bring a light jacket or sweater.

The temperature in Dallas in June averages in the low 90s during the day, so be prepared for warm weather, and dips to the mid-to-low 70s at night

Don’t Forget!

  • Bring extra money for Sorority Spirit and other vendors. Leave some room in your suitcase for new goodies!
  • A power strip to accommodate hotel rooms with limited electrical outlets
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn!

  1. Just to be sure I have this correct on the necessary outfits…
    1. I need dress/boots for Wednesday
    2. ALL white attire for Thursday
    3. Pin attire for Friday morning meetings, then tourism outfit, and then boots/bling/denim for dinner
    4. Pin attire for Saturday except for dinner banquet which is more formal attire
    5. pin attire for Sunday morning

    Is that correct??? I am getting myself confused with all of the boots/bling/dress outfits and how many I actually need to pack LOL. Little confusing on which ones should be more casual and formal and which ones have bling
