Convention Philanthropy Project

Alpha Delta Pi will be collecting postage stamps and gift cards for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas during Convention.

RMHC dallasEstablished in 1981, the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas exists to serve and sustain families when serious illness or injury strikes the most cherished part of their lives, their children. RMHD is the only organization that provides a temporary home-away-from-home for families whose children are receiving treatment for a serious illness or injury at a Dallas area hospital. Imagine being thrust into a family emergency and leaving home with the clothes on your back and the cash in your purse. Most of us are very blessed with resources to help us through such a crisis.

Gift cards provide the much needed opportunity to relax with coffee, buy a change of clothes or sit in a non-hospital setting and enjoy a meal. Things we often take for granted can be a huge blessing and encouragement to a family in crisis.

ADPi can provide that blessing. Postage stamps help families keep other loved ones posted on their progress. We can bring ADPi Love to these special children and families by participating in our 2013 philanthropy project.

Please bring an item from the list below to share with the Ronald McDonald House Dallas and the many families it serves:

  • Postage stamps
  • Starbucks card (there is a Starbucks in Children’s Medical Center, Dallas)
  • Bank card* (Visa, American Express, etc.)
  • Target or Wal-Mart card*
  •  Gasoline card* (Texaco, Chevron, Exxon, Shell and RaceTrac are close)

*RMHD suggests card values of $25 or more as an amount to best serve each family.

RMHC logo Color_RSince 1979, Alpha Delta Pi has been committed to serving Ronald McDonald House Charities.  Alpha Delta Pi has contributed over $2 million to this worthwhile effort. RMHC supports Ronald McDonald Houses in local communities and funds grants to other nonprofit organizations whose programs focus on children in need.

Today, 305 Ronald McDonald Houses in 57 countries and regions help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility. In addition to donating money to this incredible organization, collegiate chapters and alumnae associations spend their time and energy volunteering at local Ronald McDonald Houses.
